She rolled over, then rolled back into her pillow when she saw the bright lights of her studio apartment flicker on.
"Up!" She cringed when she recognized the shrill voice of her landlord.
"Who the helI let you you in?"
"Myself. Check your attitude. Coffee's on the counter, you'll need it." Georgia sat up and rubbed her eyes. Her phone told her it was three in the afternoon, automatically sending her feet on the floor and her legs into the nearest pair of pants.
"Sh!t, I'm going to be late for an interview!" The blonde in the kitchen laughed.
"Oh, you mean the one for the fourth? Forget it honey, it's the seventh." Georgia paused pulling her sweater over her head, then ran in to stare at the calender on the bolted door. She started cursing, skipping splenda and downing her coffee black.
"What the helI happened?"
"You tell me. You came stumbling in a couple of nights ago drunk off your @ss, and I had to get you to your apartment so you didn't wake the whole building up. Rent was due yesterday, so when I didn't see a check in my slot I came up to check on you." Georgia frowned, trying to remember the last time she had her eyes open. Nothing came to her mind. She pulled out her check book and scribbled out a signature and a four digit number before running her fingers through her hair and out the door. She missed a crucial interview, and she couldn't screw up again.
